Blakes Birthday Party(s)

Mr. Blake was a very lucky boy this year to be able to celebrate his birthday 3 times!! While in Denver we had a 'little' birthday as Blake called it, so my mom could share in his special day with him:) Monday 8-9-10 was his actual birthday so of course we had some pizza and cupcakes, and he got a couple of presents from Seth and I!! Then that weekend we had his 'big' Transformer birthday party!! He kept asking me ALL week when his party was, he was soooo excited!! I still find it hard to believe that he is 4!

10 Months

Miss Kendra at 10 months!! She is quite the little girl!! She is full of energy and very curious, she is a STINKER!! Has quite the little attitude anymore, its so funny how much of a difference there is between a boy and a girl:) She has been walking officially since the day after I put up that video on here:) Can't believe in a little over a month she will be 1... WOW!! Hard to believe this time last year I was pregnant with her:)

8.9.10

Today 8/9/10 is Blake's 4th birthday:) It is hard to believe that he is 4 already!!

We sort of lounged around for a little while today (trying to play catch up from being gone) Blake got to go hang out with Grandpa Craig, which always makes both of them happy:) I asked Blake what he wanted for supper and of course he wanted PIZZA!! He was very excited to find out that daddy was coming home tonight just for him!! When Seth got home Blake got to open a couple of little presents from us, we ate our pizza and sang happy birthday and had cupcakes!!

We will be having his family birthday party this weekend!! So will have lots of pictures too post from that!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE ALLAN!! Mommy and Daddy love you VERY VERY much!!

Ok so its not OFFICIAL yet, but I had to share this video of Miss Kendra walking!! She is pretty much walking every chance she can!! She has even graduated from standing up to something to just standing up in the middle of the room!! Its only a matter of time and she will be a full time walker!! Its very exciting and scarey at the same time!! She is already into EVERYTHING, life is very hectic now!! I'm not liking how fast she is growing up but it so much fun to watch them learn and conquer new things!! ENJOY!!!

Cake

Yep, cake!! I have always liked baking and have tried my hand at decorating a couple of different times, but ran out of motivation or time!! Well now that I am staying home I thought I might try and find something I can do to maybe make a little money here and there and just to have a hobby too!! So Jodi and I came up with the idea to try making cakes again, what can it hurt right, except our figure!!! I got ahold of a lady I know here in town to see if I could borrow some of her stuff to practice with before I went all hog wild buying the stuff and then it not working out!!

First I started out by researching A LOT on the internet about icings and fondants and the tools and pans that you need to be successful at making cakes!! I found a really simple recipe for fondant using marshmallows, so I made it this morning and boy was that a pain, STICKY STICKY STICKY!! I had to put that in the fridge for most of the day, so tonight after supper I made my cakes and went to town, I had my dad come over THANK GOD because that fondant was a two man job (especially it being my first time)!! So with the two of us we accomplised a 3 tiered, yes I said 3 TIERED cake!! I mainly wanted to figure out the fondant tonight and see if I could even work with it or do it, and I am SOOOOO proud of myself for making it from scratch, rolling it out and putting it on the cakes!! AND it tastes good:) I messed around with some of the tips I borrowed as well, this could be FUN!! I still need LOTS of practice, but with lots of practice I hope will come success!! Plus I think I set the bar a little high tonight, a simple sheet cake would have been good!!

9 Months

Ok so this is seriously almost a month late... but what are you going to do?!?! HA!! Better late then never, right? Kendra was being SOO stubborn during our 3 photo shoots for this picture!! But I guess it represents what she is like at 9 months!! Not looking at the camera, no smile and super ANNOYED! HAHA!! Beings it is so late, I will do a update of how she is doing next week with her 10 month photo!!

4th of July

This year we had a great 4th weekend! Its always nice when the 4th falls on the weekend:) HA!! July 4th is also Seth's birthday so we have a lot to celebrate this time of year:) We started the weekend off with a little birthday party for Seth on Saturday night, we had family over for cake and ice cream!! THANK YOU to my family for helping us celebrate Seth's birthday!! The 4th we just relaxed around the house for the morning, then headed to Battle Creek in the afternoon for the parade and the frog jumping contest! This was the first year we did the frog jumping contest and it was pretty fun!! Blake had SO much fun holding his frog and making it jump, his frog only went 76inches which was a long ways away from the leader that had a 195in jump!! So we came home and grilled out then headed back over to Battle Creek with my dad and grandparents to watch the FIREWORKS!!! I swear every year the fireworks there get BETTER and BETTER, they have definetly come A LONG way from when I was younger!! I am so glad we get 1 more day with Seth home!!
